Ingredients

1 lb. stewing meat.. cut into bite size

1 T. oil

1 ½ large onions chopped

2 large gloves of garlic.. m inced

1-(28 oz.) can of diced or whole tomatoes

¼ can of Campbell’s tomato juice

1 large carrot chopped

¾ head of cabbage shredded

¼ to ½ cup of pearl barley

2 carrots . Chopped

1 small can of lima beans…rinsed

1 small can of corn…rinsed

½ tsp. dried basil

1 T. Italian Seasoning

3 large bay leaves

Salt and pepper to your taste

Water to fill almost the top of the pot.

4 oz. Wide noodle

Preparation

Put oil in the pot to brown the meat. Add the meat cut-up into bite size pieces…..brown. Add onions and garlic. Sauté a little.

Add: whole tomatoes or diced - tomato juice and all the rest “Except” the noodles to the pot.

Bring to a full boil and turn down heat to simmer all day.

Stir often through out the day.

30 minutes before serving cook the noodles separate or add right to the pot. Hj

Remove bay leaves. Taste for adjusting salt and pepper.

Serve with bread and butter.

Optional: can add little yellow squash and zucchini cubed at the last 30 minutes also.

If you are in hurry or don’t have all the vegetables use 1 to 2 cans of Veg-All in place of most of the vegetables; but the small can of limas and corn is a must along with the onions- cabbage and barley.
