Ingredients

3 cups (packed) fresh basil leaves (no stems)

4 healthy cloves of garlic (more if you like it!)

¼ -½ tsp salt

¾ cup freshly grated or shredded parmesan cheese

¼ cup pine nuts

¾ cup extra-virgin olive oil

A few turns of freshly-grated black pepper

Preparation

Puree everything in a food processor until smooth, scraping down the sides with a rubber spatula. Our kids love to press the button on the processor! Gradually add more oil if the sauce is too pasty. You should end up with a slightly oily sauce versus a heavy paste.

				Toss with 1 pound of freshly drained gemelli or tortellini cooked to al dente and enjoy!
