Organic, GMO-free Stoneground Grits

Butter

Milk, Garlic, Cheese & Basil (optional mix and match)

Preparation

Boil 2 1/2 cups of water (or combine ½ cup whole milk, 2 cups water) and add a pinch of salt in a saucepan. Put the pan on the stove and bring to a boil.

Reduce the heat to low and add 1 cup of grits and whisk to prevent clumping. Add a couple diced cloves of garlic, if desired.

Whisk occasionally, and cook another 10-15 minutes, sample and continue to cook as needed.

Remove the pan from the heat as soon as the grits finish cooking. Add 1 tbsp. of butter (or bacon grease) and stir until it melts.

For cheese grits, add a cup of shredded cheddar.

Chopped basil will make it extra special.
