Ingredients
2lbs swiss chard
1 clove garlic
3T butter
2T flour
2c milk
nuymeg
3/4c bread crumbs
Preparation
Wash chard and cut out thick stems, chop leaaves into 3/4" pieces Peel and chop garlic Melt butter, add chard and saute until chard begins to wilt. Add galic, cook 7-8 minutes. Warm milk in sauce pan. Add flour to chard, cook 1 minute. Add milk 1/4c at a time, stirring into chard until milk is incorporated before adding more. When all of milk is incorporated, remove from heat add nutmeg, salt, pepper. Place in tart pan, top with bread crumbs. Bake 35 minutes at 375F.
