Ingredients
Cake:
2 cup sugar
2 cup plain (all-purpose) flour
2 sticks of butter or margarine
1 cup water
3.5 tablespoons cocoa
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 beaten eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
Icing:
1 stick margarine or butter
1/3 cup milk
3.5 tablespoons cocoa
1 lb powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup chopped nuts (pecans)
Preparation
Cake preparation: Preheat oven 400 degrees. Flour and grease pan.
Mix sugar and flour. Over low heat, melt together butter, water and cocoa. Mix the melted mixture into the flour/sugar. Add buttermilk, soda, beaten eggs and vanilla.
Pour into sheet cake pan and back for 20 minutes at 400 degrees.
ICING preparation: Melt together butter, mild and cocoa. Add powdered sugar, vanilla, nuts.
Pour on the cake HOT from the oven.
