1 CUP SUGAR

1 CUP WATER AND 1/2 CUP PINEAPPLE JUICE

4 T CORNSTARCH

1/4 TSP SALT

4 EGG WHITES

1/4 TSP CR OF TARTAR

WHIPPED CREAM

CHOPPED NUTS

Preparation

COMBINE PINEAPPLE AND CHERRIES - SET ASIDE.

COOK, SUGAR, WATER, JUICE, CORNSTARCH, SALT, UNTIL CLEAR. COOL TO ROOM TEMPERATURE. BEAT EGG WHITES UNTIL STIFF, ADD COOLED MIXTURE, BEAT ABOUT 5 MINUTES, ADD PINEAPPLE AND CHERIES, PLUS 1 T CHERRY JUICE. POUR IN PIE SHELL AND CHILL SEVERAL HOURS. TOP WITH WHIPPED CREAM AND CHOPPED NUTS
