Ingredients
4 cups milk, scalded
5 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons vanilla
Nutmeg, finely grated
Preparation
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Scald the milk in a double boiler and remove from heat. Whip together the eggs, sugar, salt and vanilla. Strain into custard cups. Place in a hot water bath about 3/4 way up the custard cups.
Grate a generous amount of fresh nutmeg over the top of each custard cup. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes. Let cool and refrigerate. Serve with fresh berries, like raspberries and strawberries.
