Ingredients

1 cup self rising cornmeal

1/4 cup self rising flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 Tablespoon sugar

1 egg

1/4 to 1/2 cup buttermilk to thin.

1/4 cup Crisco

Preparation

Heat Crisco in iron skillet on stove to melt.

Mix self rising cornmeal through buttermilk together. Then add 1/2 of the melted Crisco to finish.

Pour in skillet. Bake at 400 F about 15 minutes or until golden brown.
