Ingredients

2 cups all purpose flour

2 tsp. baking soda

1 tsp. cinnamon

1/2 tsp. nutmeg

1/2 tsp. salt

2 cups granulated sugar

1/2 cup butter or margarine

2 eggs

4 cups diced, pared apples (Granny Smith)

1/2 cup chopped walnuts

3/4 cup raisins

Confectioners sugar

Preparation

Preheat oven to 325. Grease 13x9 baking pan. Sift flour, soda, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt into large bowl. In separate bowl, beat butter, sugar, and eggs. Add flour mixture and mix. Stir in apples, walnuts, and raisins. Mix just until combined. Mixture will be very thick. Bake 1 hour or until top springs back to the touch. Cool slightly in pan on wire rack. Sprinkle with confectioners sugar.
