Ingredients

4 lbs. firm apples (about 12)

1 tsp grated orange zest

1 tsp grated lemon zest

2 Tbs orange juice

2 Tbs lemon juice

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 cup flour

1 tsp cinnamon

1/2 tsp nutmeg

Topping:

1 1/2 cups flour

3/4 cup sugar

3/4 cup brown sugar

1/2 tsp salt

1 cup oats

2 sticks butter, diced

Preparation

Preheat over to 350. Peel, core and cut apples into large chunks. Place them in a large bowl and add zest, juice, sugar, flour, cinnamon and nutmeg. Pour into a 9x12x2" oval baking dish.

To make the topping, combine flour, sugars, salt, oats and butter. Mix on low setting for 1 minute until large crumbles form. Sprinkle the topping over the apples, covering completely.

Place dish on a sheet pan and bake 50-60 minutes, until top is browned and fruit is bubbly.
