Ingredients
10 cups all purpose apples, peeled, cored, and sliced (I prefer 10 granny smith apples)
Sauce:
1 cup white sugar
1 tbsp all purpose flour
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 cup water, reserved
Topping:
1 cup quick cooking oats
1 cup all purpose flour
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup butter, melted
1/4 tsp nutmeg
Preparation
Preheat oven to 350F. Spray a 9x13 baking pan with nonstick cooking spray like Pam.
Place sliced apples in a large bowl. To the apples add the sauce ingredients and mix together until the apples are well coated. Pour the apple mixture into baking pan and pour reserved water over evenly over top.
Combine topping ingredients together into a large bowl. I prefer to double topping. Crumble evenly over apple mixture in baking pan.
Bake in preheated oven for 45 min until sauce is bubbly.
Cool slightly before serving. May be served warm topped with vanilla ice cream.
