Ingredients
1 cup flour
1 cup light brown sugar
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 quart sliced apples
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. salt
1 cup water
Preparation
Mix flour and brown sugar. Cut in butter until crumbly. Place sliced apples in greased baking pan. (If not baking right away, dip apples in lemon juice to prevent from browning.) Sprinkle apples with sugar, cinnamon, and salt mixture; pour water over the top. Cover with the flour, brown sugar, and butter mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes to 1 hour. Transparent apples don’t take as long. Serve warm with whipped cream.
