Ingredients
2 tablespoons sugar
1 egg
1/3 cup milk
1 cup flour
1 cup pared, chopped apples
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon melted shortening or butter
2 tablespoons baking powder
oil or fat for frying
Preparation
- Shift dry ingredients together then add chopped apples.
- Beat egg slightly, add milk.
- Add liquid to dry ingredients. Beat until smooth.
- Drop by the spoonful into hot oil heated to 365-375 degrees. Fry until light brown. Drain. Sprinkle with confectioner’s sugar.
