Ingredients
2 1/2 cups of apple filling
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup white sugar (granulated)
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 cup flour
2 Tbl. butter- to “dot” the top of the pie
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees
- Prepare the pastry, saving about 1/3 of the pastry for the top
- Stir together the sugars, flour, and seasonings
- Add the apples and mix well
- Fill bottom of the pie pan with the pastry and fill with about 1/2 cup apple filling for each small pie
- Cover with top crust which has been criss-crossed
- Dot the top of the pie with little bits of butter and cinnamon/sugar mixture
- Bake 25-30 minutes. If crust starts to get too brown, put small strips of aluminum foil around the edges
