Ingredients
Pie Crust:
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 t salt
1/4 c. lard
1/4 c. butter
1/3 c. or less of ice cold water
Pie Filling:
Sliced Apples
1 c. sugar
Cinnamon to taste
1/4 t nutmeg
1 t butter
Preparation
Crust: Sift dry ingredients together and work in chilled shortening lightly. Add ice water slowly. Divide into 2 crust. Roll on floured board. Line pie tin, have dough well over edge of pan. Filling: Fill crust with thinly sliced apples, add 1c sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, dabs of butter across the top. Roll upper crust, moisten edge of lower crust, cover with top crust. Press to seal, poke holes in top to vent, bake aproximately 1 hr. at 350 degrees.
