Ingredients
Pastry for 2-Crust Pie
1 C plus 1 T Sugar
2 T Flour
1 tsp. Cinnamon
1/2 tsp. Nutmeg
4 Large Granny Smith Apples
2 T Butter
1 T Milk
Preparation
40-45 Minutes @ 425 degrees f. Prepare crusts’ dough. Heat oven. Skin and slice apples into small chunks. On lightly floured surface, roll out bottom crust. Put bottom crust into pie dish. Do not trim yet. Prepare the apple filling. Combine 1 C sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Place 1/2 of the apples into pie dish. Sprinkle 1/2 of the mixture over, repeat, dot with butter. Roll out top crust. Brush with milk, then sprinkle 1 T of sugar over. Bake and then cool.
