Ingredients
THE BROWNIE
1 cup all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/8 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup butter, softened
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
THE ICE CREAM
1 quart vanilla ice cream (Mayfield Vanilla Bean)
Preparation
1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour a 9x9x2" pan.
2 THE BROWNIE: In large primary bowl, mix butter and brown sugar and mix well. Then add the egg and vanilla extract. Mix well.
3 In a second bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix well. 4 Add flour mix to the butter mix. Mix well.
5 Spread the brownie mix into the greased and floured pan.
6 Bake for 20 - 25 minutes.
7 THE SAUCE: In a small microwavable bowl or measuring cup melt 1/4 cup butter.
8 Add syrup, vanilla extract, and brown sugar. Mix well until all brown sugar is dissolved.
9 Add powdered sugar and mix well.
10 Heat mixture in the microwave for 10 to 15 seconds to remove lumps of sugar left in the mixture.
11 Add milk a little at a time until you have a sauce texture thin enough to pour. Sauce can be reheated as needed.
12 Once brownies have finished, cut and serve topped with a scoop of ice cream, a drizzle of syrup and a sprinkle of walnuts.
