Ingredients
apples, quartered & de-seeded
1 cup water
nutmeg
cinnamon
sugar is optional
Preparation
In a large pot, cook the apples with the water until the apples are mushy (~30 minutes).
Add the desired amount of cinnamon & nutmeg (1 tablespoon of each at least). If apples aren’t sweet enough, add sugar.
Run the mix through a food mill. (This is why you don’t need to peel the apples.)
Can be served warm, cold, and will actually freeze well.
