Ingredients
Preheat oven to 275 degrees.
5 strips bacon (browned and chopped)
1 large onion chopped
1 lb. ground beef
1 28 oz. can of whole tomatoes (or diced)
2 15. oz cans pork & beans
1 15 oz.can red kidney beans
I 15 oz. can garbanzo beans
2 T. brown sugar
1/2 tsp.Worcestershire sauce
Topping: 2 T. prepared mustard, 1 T. vinegar, 1/2 cup brown sugar
Preparation
Brown beef and onion. Add bacon and mix.
Mix tomatoes and beans together. Mix in 2 T. brown sugar and Worcestershire. Add meat mixture. Place in large dutch oven or baking dish. Mix topping ingredients together and pour over the top of meat and bean mixture.
Bake slow for two to three hours. Adjust cooking time if the dish is being transported. The dish should be hot and flavors well blended but it does not need to be bubbly. Reheats beautifully.
