Ingredients
CAKE
2 cups sifted brown sugar
3/4 cup melted shortening
2 egg yolks
1 1/4 cup sour milk*
2 1/3 cups flour
3/4 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp soda
1 tsp cloves
1 tsp cinniman
1 tsp vanilla
*to sour milk add 2 T vinegar and let sit 5 min.
ICING
5 T brown sugar
4 T melted butter
4 T evaporated milk
1 cup coconut
Preparation
preheat oven to 375 grease and flour 9x13 cake pan
Mix 1st four ingredients, add next 6 ingredients, stir together pour into pan and bake for 25-30 min or until done. Cool.
Mix icing ingrediwnts, spread on cake and broil until tosted.
