Ingredients

3/4 lb fresh tomatillos

3 California avocados

1-2 Serrano or jalapeño peppers, minced

1/2 bunch chopped fresh cilantro

2 fresh limes, juiced well

1/2 large onion (red or white), finely chopped

Salt – generous, to taste

Preparation

Remove husks from tomatillos and rinse under warm water to remove stickiness. Halve and pit avocados, and mash thoroughly. Add other ingredients. Taste with a tortilla chip and adjust seasonings. Garnish dip with remaining tablespoon of chopped onion and serve with chips.
