Ingredients
21/2 cups large flake oats
2 cups crisp brown rice
1 cup unsweetened coconut
1 cup dried fruits
1 cup seeds
1 cup nuts
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup honey
1 cup demera (brown) sugar
Preparation
Combine all the dry ingregients in a large bowl.
Grease a 9" X 13" pan.
In a large saucepan, over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the brown sugar and honey. Heat the mixture until it begins to bubble, stirring as required to keep from burning.
Add the dry ingredients to the melted butter mixture and stir well. Cook the mixture for 7 minutes until it is light golden, stirring constantly. Lower the heat if mixture is browning too quickly.
Turn the mixture into the prepared pan. Use a spatula to spread the mixture evenly. Then, press it down firmly to compact.
Cool completely before cutting into bars.
